LCRA is seeking a Telecommunications System Administrator. You'll be primarily responsible for managing all aspects of the applications and hardware associated with the Telenium Network Management System. The Telenium System requires a person with, or capable of learning, unique and specialized knowledge, and skills. If you are highly motivated, able to work independently, and loves a challenge this opportunity is for you.

You will be trusted to:

• Perform system administration, maintenance, upgrades, and patches to ensure system reliability and integrity
• Provide high level skill and expertise in, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and complex problem analysis of the NMS system and related systems and technologies,
• Manage end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
• Develop and implement automated monitoring and reporting
• Participate in planning and development of long-term strategic goals for the system
• Identify, research, design, plan and implement creative solutions for improving the system

You qualify with:

- Nine or more years of experience in systems design, development, installation, administration and maintenance in a UNIX/Windows environment, including five or more years in supporting high availability systems.
- A degree(s) in software engineering, computer science, information technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

LCRA is funded by revenue we generate, the vast majority of which comes from generating and transmitting electricity. A very small portion of our revenue comes from selling water. We do not receive state appropriations or have the ability to levy taxes.

Our history

LCRA has deep roots in Texas, dating as far back as the Great Depression of the 1930s. We built the chain of dams that tamed the Colorado River and brought power to rural Central Texas for the first time.
