This is an outstanding opportunity for a junior engineer to work closely with a team of diversified and experienced engineers within the turbines group supporting Military, Commercial and Advanced Technology Engines. This position involves performing and providing technical expertise in mechanical design, analysis and lifing of turbine components.  The scope of the work will include performing engineering activities for qualifying manufacturing processes for reducing manufacturing cost and improving quality, delivery and inventory objectives for current production engines. Conduct engineering review/analysis of MRB and non-conformance disposition where required including root cause evaluation and elimination.


  Primary Responsibilities


  • Responsible for supporting currently fielded products and assist in defining product improvements to improve turbine component mechanical integrity.
  • Support R&O and manufacturing projects to expedite MRB resolutions and repair initiatives by applying product knowledge and analytical skills to preserve design intent.
  • Conduct engineering review/analysis of MRB and non-conformance disposition where required including root cause evaluation and elimination.
  • Perform engineering tasks associated with the mechanical design, development and engine test validation for cooled and un-cooled turbine components such as blades, seal-plates, disks and wheels.
  • Capable of performing engineering assignments such as stress, vibration, LCF and HCF prediction calculations, using ANSYS software.
  • Experience with reviewing FAIRs and making engineering drawing changes to improve part producibility
  • Experience with CAD modeling and structured light scan analysis is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience applying six sigma methodologies in the design and analysis of turbine components would be a plus.
  • Communicate technical results to internal and external customers.



  • Candidate must have a bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in turbine component design, analysis, and testing.
  • Must be a US citizen or a green card holder..

  • Manufacturing knowledge is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience working with CAD software  and Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerances (GD&T) is a definite advantage
