The Defense Group at Leidos has an opening for a Digital Electronics Engineer to work in our Ridgecrest, CA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your engineering skills to support the Navy's Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR) mission. In this mission we provide engineering support for the Navy's aircrew Electronic Warfare (EW) training capability. Our organization designs, manufactures, integrates, and provides depot level support for a wide variety of EW threat simulation systems that are part of the training infrastructure that ensures our Navy aircrews are the most effective in the world.
+ BS Degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree).
+ Demonstrated in-depth experience in circuit design including DACs, ADCs, Microprocessors, FPGAs, Memories, Op-Amps, Linear and Switching Voltage Regulators, and related EMI/EMC issues is expected of the successful candidate.
+ Experience in application of debug and troubleshooting techniques using digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal sources, power supplies, and other measurement devices, is required.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.
+ Familiarity with Cadence OrCAD and Allegro PCB Designer preferred.
+ Experience with radars or other high power RF emission systems is desired.
+ Familiarity with Xilinx FPGA logic design a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:This position entails working with our digital electronics lead supporting our engineering group. The digital electronics team is responsible for designing, prototyping, and integrating digital electronics subsystems into EW training simulators. Daily duties include generating hardware specifications and Bills of Material (BOM), the use of schematic capture and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design tools, FPGA logic design, and electronics prototyping. An in-depth understanding of circuit design including DACs, ADCs, Microprocessors, FPGAs, Memories, Op-Amps, Linear and Switching Voltage Regulators, and related EMI/EMC issues is expected of the successful candidate. The application of debug and troubleshooting techniques using digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal sources, power supplies, and other measurement devices, is typical of this position.
