We are seeking cleared or clearable Embedded Software Engineers in a variety of technical disciplines who are self-motivated and energetic with a background in Embedded Systems Design and Software Development. The Embedded Software Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary program responsible for architecting, designing, testing, and deploying next-generation, specialized communication and sensing systems critical to US intelligence customers and allies. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will contribute to system requirements generation, hardware-selection trade studies, embedded software development, and integration and testing of systems. Programs here are engineering-intensive, rapid-schedule jobs for diverse SIGINT/EW applications. Focus areas are advanced waveform development, low size, weight, and power (low SWaP) processing systems, specialized space communication payloads, and persistent signal surveillance systems.

These positions can be filled at a Principal or Engineer level.

Basic Hiring Criteria for Embedded Software Engineers :

+ B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 2 years of relevant work experience OR M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 0 years of relevant work experience NOTE: 4 years of relevant work experience can be substituted for the degree

+ US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance

+ Demonstrated software programming experience in C, C++, and embedded assembly languages (e.g. ARM, STM32, MSP430)

+ Experience with embedded systems debugging and system analysis tools (e.g. JTAG emulators, remote GDB servers, USB or benchtop logic analyzers)

+ Experience with embedded systems development environments such as Xilinx SDK, TI Code Composer Studio, IAR Embedded Workbench, and the GNU compiler collection (GCC) and associated tools

+ Demonstrated experience with embedded communications protocols such as SPI, I2C, RS-232, CAN, SpaceWire, and MIL-STD-1553B

+ US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance

+ Demonstrated software programming experience in C, C++, and embedded assembly languages (e.g. ARM, STM32, MSP430)

Desired Qualifications :

+ Active Top Secret security clearance - Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

+ Interest in digital signal processing

+ Experience with GNU Radio or other software-defined radios (SDRs) and platforms

+ Proficient with MATLAB/Octave

+ Experience with embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Mentor Nucleus, or Linux with PREEMPT_RT

+ Experience with SDLC (software development life cycle)

+ Experience developing software for multiple operating system environments

+ Experience with virtual machine technology and containers

+ Development of lower-level networking protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP

+ Ability to understand secure/insecure programming concepts (format string vulnerabilities, heap overflows, etc.)

+ Familiarity with common source control tools (git, Mercurial, etc.) and automated build system workflows (Jenkins, Go, etc.)

+ Experience with the Agile methodology
