Position Summary


As a Business Systems Analyst you will be part of an Agile team supporting new development, application enhancements, and operational efficiencies.  You will analyze existing systems to identify current and future functionality. Documenting through functional flows and capability maps to allow individuals not familiar with the system to understand how they work.  The Business Systems Analyst will be the primary facilitator in gathering requirements, bringing together the right business owners and determining the best way to understand what is truly needed. 


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as end-to-end business systems analyst for programs/projects that span multiple applications
  • Translates business requirements to specific and complete functional requirements to be relied upon by designated project delivery / development team.
  • Review existing production data and user flows to identify exceptions and edge cases for "alternate paths" of execution
  • Collaborates with the project team and validate that all necessary requirements have been fulfilled.
  • Assist in grooming of product backlog for prioritization, sprint planning and release scheduling
  • Identify/document inter-application dependencies and work with Architects and developers to identify detailed requirements for system interfaces/interactions
  • Lead the creation of Journey Maps and leverage those maps to identify Agile Epics & Features that deliver new and improved process for Pep Boys
  • Create/Review Acceptance Criteria for projects at the Epic, Feature, and User Story level
  • Works with QA team to contribute to test plan and test case creation. As well as assist in test execution to ensure that delivered code meets requirements.
  • Effectively communicate to all levels of the organization using various tools such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of unit, scenario, and integration testing; provide post-implementation support.
  • Works with training and change management teams to prepare required documentation and assist with communicating change to the business community.
  • Manage multiple work assignments and works effectively under pressure with sense of urgency. Acting as a bridge between business and technical teams.
  • Own project plans, milestone management and leadership status meetings.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience leading meetings to review requirements, status, test cases, and assist in conducting demonstrations of delivered software
  • Experience being part of Agile team participating in all phases of the software delivery life cycle
  • Problem-Solving & Decision Making that supports the requirements gathering process by bringing together an understanding of the application, its data, and the underlying business process
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex systems and process through creation of System functional flows, Capability maps.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or similar is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a business systems analyst.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • 3+ years of experience with service and/or retail technologies.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-starting work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently within defined job scope.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize and manage time efficiently with the ability to handle stress in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Experience in Agile / Kanban process
  • Experience using Agile tools such as JIRA to manage tasks, user stories and sprints
  • Experience working with business and technology teams at both functional and technical level.
  • Experience executing and coordinating integration, system, regression, and user-acceptance testing.
  • Familiarity with 360 commerce/ Oracle Retail point of Sale (ORPOS) a plus
