The Strategy, Digital and Innovation (SDI) team forges the strategic direction of Wells Fargo, provides and manages our digital foundation and common capabilities, and transforms our business models to meet evolving customer needs and grow the company. The investments we are making will help the company create innovative digital banking experiences, and make it easier for customers to achieve their financial goals

Strategy, Delivery, Innovation (SDI) and Shared Services is responsible for agile transformation, group portfolio delivery, group business process management, Global Program Office and project prioritization. SDI Delivery & Shared Services provides digital delivery for all consumer CEOs and project/portfolio management services, governance support and business process support for the SDI organization.

In addition, we support the Risk Programs for the group.   In support of the customer-centric-based structure using the Customer Journey Delivery, our delivery teams have been aligned to support Customer Journeys.

Our goal around organizing into Customer Journeys is to raise the bar on delivery execution, increasing efficiency and velocity of our teams. The Customer Journey structure will provide flexibility to pivot within Journey teams, in pursuit of opportunities and solutions that enhance the experiences for each customer and realize value to the company. 

This Scrum Master role will support the SDI Operation group responsible for delivering large and complex digital products across our Becoming a Customer, Manage My Relationship, Move Money & Digital Capabilities Customer Journeys for our various Lines of Business. 

As a Scrum Master on 1+ Scrum Teams, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and evolving Scaled Agile portfolios of the highest complexity.
  • Facilitates the scrum process on scrum teams with significant cross-functional impacts involving project, non-project, or maintenance work. 
  • Guides the scrum team(s) and organization to follow generally accepted Agile/Scrum practices and daily activities to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint. 
  • Uses empirical data to help the team(s) assess their Scrum Maturity, optimize scrum team velocity to organizational KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance. 
  • Proactively addresses systemic impediments to team agility and guides the team(s) on methods to escalate when needed to prevent challenges from becoming blockers. 
  • Coaches scrum team(s) to deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met. 
  • Partners with discipline managers to convey their concerns to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards. 
  • Partners with Product Owner(s) to ensure continuous refinement of backlog, which may include stories from multiple projects. 
  • Completion of some work may depend on non-agile work teams. Facilitates Scrum of Scrums. 
  • May train other Scrum Masters and serve as a mentor to less experienced team members. 
  • Facilitates and is accountable for owning the Scrum and/or Scaled Agile ceremonies for the scrum team(s). 
  • Partners with Product Owners, Program or Project Managers to communicate delivery of work product from the scrum team(s) and escalates key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness.

Preferred locations are Charlotte, NC or San Francisco, CA. Full time telecommute is NOT an option.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as a practicing Scrum Master



Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Knowledge and understanding of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology software: release management
  • Experience using the team collaboration software Confluence
  • Experience of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) experience or exposure to any other scaling principles
  • Agile Scrum (CSM), SAFE certifications or other advanced Agile certifications
  • Experience designing and leading Scrum of Scrums
  • Experience moving teams and organizations from Waterfall to Agile methodologies and Agile Transformations
  • JIRA experience
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master for multiple teams simultaneously



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: digital customer experience, digital product/program management, digital platforms, or digital consulting
