Job Description:

Sr. DevSecOps Engineer

GDIT is looking for an experienced Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering and Migration team to support current cloud requirements, cloud migration and deployment of new requirements to the AWS Cloud environment for our federal customers. We are an Amazon Managed Service Partner (MSP) providing full-scope cloud engineering, operations, and development services to multiple government and commercial customers. As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will work with a team Subject Matter Experts to engineer/develop, migrate and implement secure cloud solutions using AWS.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and improving our existing cloud infrastructure.
  • Evaluating enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software for cloud-readiness.
  • Using tools such as Puppet, Jira, Confluence, and Git to improve and speed delivery of our products and services.
  • Extending and maintaining automation frameworks in the areas of infrastructure as code and CI/CD.
  • Working with developers and operations to define DevSecOps processes.
  • Leading developer and DevSecOps teams on infrastructure characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
  • Troubleshooting problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • U. S. Citizen and/or Green Card holder
  • Ability to secure a Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • 3+ years of system engineer experience.
  • 3+ years of related software development experience.
  • Previous experience building or maintaining full-stack applications and/or infrastructure.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Extensive experience with scripting and programming such as Python, Go, Ruby.
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Willingness to work on a fast paced team with a "low ego/high performance" culture.
  • Willingness to support a DevSecOps team (24x7 accessibility for emergency issues, as needed).

Desired Qualification:

  • 3+ years’ experience working within a DevSecOps/DevOps environment, utilizing AWS services, solutions, and provisioning/automating AWS infrastructure, services and tools.
  • Experience developing, testing and integrating APIs/Interfaces using Java, Java Script, JSON, XML, YAML etc.
  • Experience developing, testing, and integrating Web Services using REST APIs, XML, SOAP or similar protocols.
  • Familiarity with software defined networks and virtual router architectures in public clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure and/or Google).
  • Knowledge of test and QA automation frameworks.
  • Significant experience with CI/CD and building test automation frameworks.
  • Passion for quality and solving problems in complex computing environments.
  • Knowledge of government security architecture and/or secure coding practices.
