Job Description:
M&A, Strategic investments and partnerships are key to Honeywell success in its journey of transforming itself into a leading Software Industrial. HCE has an excellent opportunity for a Principal Software Architect in these efforts. In this role you will reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering, and participate in conducting technical due diligence of our partnerships, Venture Capital investments and M&A activities in collaboration with other functions and in alignment with our Strategy. The candidate should understand the importance of our strategy, while at the same time have the technical domain expertise to help lead these technical due diligence efforts to ultimately result in unlocking new sources of value for our customers.
Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies with analytical skills to distill business needs and translate into technical solution and architectural requirements.
Strong verbal and written skills to communicate architectural concepts and design patterns to other architects and developers.


Responsibilities and Duties:
Technology Scouting: keep abreast of relevant global technology advancements through partner networking, participating in startup networking events, conferences & tradeshows, global standards and other development efforts, as appropriate.

Competitive intelligence: gather, analyze and distribute intelligence on products, market conditions, competitors and customers for business decision-making on a continuous basis.
Practice Technology Evangelism through content creation (internal blogs, trade journal and other articles, videos, whitepapers, presentations etc.). And develop and maintain executive level relationships.

Participate as a key member of the Architecture Working Group on assisting Principal Software Architect and others in developing, maintaining, and enhancing the architectural framework for Honeywell Forge through its continuing Analysis, Evaluation, Synthesis and Evolution in alignment with our strategy and business needs.

Lead /develop cloud-enabled, cloud-based or cloud-native software Proof-of-Concepts (POC) as applicable with third party providers and lead/assist a team of architects and software engineers in development of detailed architectural design documents pertaining to Enterprise Performance Management covering Scalability, Upgradability, Reliability, Extensibility, etc.
For projects involving Technology Due Diligence, assess:
oProcesses, Practices & Tools for effectiveness & efficiency gains
o     Adaptability and scalability of technology platforms for alignment with Honeywell strategy
o     CICD Maturity and Operations/DevSecOps needs, and
o     Lead execution / source third party, code deep-dives, Security testing and other activities as warranted, amongst others.


YOU MUST HAVE

5+ years’ experience in developing enterprise architecture models and strategic roadmaps, or equivalent systems experience.
3+ years of experience in developing and delivering Cloud Native SaaS based offerings in collaboration with product managers, software architects, software engineers, data scientists, data engineers and application developers.
Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the proven technical and business acumen to translate technical capabilities into business value and business needs into technical implementations--technical writing examples are preferred!
Strong written communication skills with proven focus on content for developers and engineering management.
A technical background or demonstrated ability to market to highly technical users and buyers
Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, and cross-functional teams, and third parties


WE VALUE
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
1-2 years in a consultative/pre-sales or sales engineering role.
Demonstrated Enterprise Software Engineering and development leadership experience. In managing large software engineering initiatives across various teams in aF500 company using industry-standard methodologies like Agile/SCRUM and associated tool sets is a definite plus.
Working knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and associated technologies is a plus
In-depth hands-on Azure experience leveraging multiple services is a definite plus.
Experience with and exposure to architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc.
Familiarity with design thinking and similar principles.
Ability to travel minimum 10-20% of the time.
