DIRECTLY ACCOUNTABLE for:
Structural Design & Detail Engineering of modular plants including pipe racks, R.C.C. / Steel Structure & Infrastructure Facilities for Industrial onshore Process Plants.
Perform Structural Analysis and Design Engineering work as an individual or in a lead role for Oil & Gas, Chemical and Petrochemical plant projects.
Prepare structural steel design and fabrication specification to outsource design, engineering and fabrication work.
Review structural analysis, Connection design, Lifting & transportation calculations and detail design work as per client’s specification.
Candidate shall be proficient in the use of software like STAAD.
Should have prior knowledge and competency with 3D modeling and should be able to take part in 3D model review.
Candidate should have good knowledge of major National / International industry Codes and Standards, Process Industries Practices, OSHA etc.
Review customer specifications for proposal support
Provides technical support for fixed/ budgetary price proposals, cost estimates, and design basis data which include estimation of structural BOM, Module Transportation dimension and weight etc.
Provides deliverables within budgeted cost and schedule at a high level of quality.
Communicates with project manager on a regular basis regarding progress, changes, budget & schedule.
Steps-in to interface with Customer and others upon Project Manager’s request.
Inspects fabrication/ construction for conformance with project equipment requirements and applicable codes, as assigned.
Assures the work of others in the group is checked for technical accuracy and compliance with established guidelines and procedures (in area of expertise).
Works effectively with team members and proactively communicates key decisions made on projects to others.
Identifies needs and opportunities for Work Process and Productivity improvements (in area of expertise) utilizing Six Sigma principles and provides necessary oversight through implementation.
Keeps up-to-date with current technology developments in area of expertise and shares this knowledge with others, where appropriate through leadership of an Equipment Network or Committee.
Sets technical standards, policies, and procedures in area of expertise.
Coordinates revisions and improvements going forward.
Supports the Technical Manager in support of the development and maintenance of outside supplier relationships, as assigned.
Explains UOP's philosophy regarding equipment issues to internal and external customers.
Analyzes and recommends solutions to technical problems in the equipment area.
Coaches and mentors engineers regarding their equipment deliverables.
Represents area of expertise on UOP equipment teams, as assigned.
Provides feedback on the performance of others (when requested) as input into the annual performance review process.
Accomplishes agreed to Expectations and Goals specific to area of expertise.
Ensure to meet customer satisfaction requirements, including UOP Quality standards and UOP technical standards.
Actively participate to ensure that ISO 9001 certification is maintained.
Insure to provide input and participates in vendor evaluation reviews, project close-out reports and subsequent meetings. Act on applicable specialist group-related RCA’s (root cause analysis) for CAPA’s (corrective & preventive actions) that come out of these reviews.
Follow-up on items and lessons learned for applicable specialisation as captured thro’ RCA’s for a CAPA, field reports, establish root cause and implement corrective actions.
Manage and address cross departmental issues, including specialist engineering issues related to Equipment integration with other UOP technologies and with other UOP Equipment Offices (International Alignment).
Manage applicable specialist group-related documentation and work with the Team to implement the Document Management system to ensure alignment with work process.
Support and follow corporate HS&E policies, in relation to Office & Field Safety practices and engineering design policies.

A Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineer with an experience in Design and Detailed Engineering related to structural discipline for Turnkey Projects related to petroleum refining & petrochemical industry.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural.
