The HR Generalist will provide support for various activities across multiple HR practices, including but not limited to reporting, data analysis, conducting audits, employee advocacy, conflict resolution and interpretation of company policies.

Duties/Activities Required by Job
  • Field questions from hourly and salaried employees and resolve day-to-day issues in relation to payroll, vacation requests and company policies
  • Continuously provide first class customer service, support, and leadership
  • Performs cyclical activities related to performance management and compensation reviews
  • Assists Complex HR Manager and Employee Relations Manager as needed
  • Support the Management team in policy interpretation and provide guidance on team building and performance improvement
  • Assist in management of I-9 program
  • Assist in UI claims management program and represent company during proceedings of claims process
  • Assist with employee issues including discipline, investigations, and policy guidance to see through to fair resolution
  • Act as a liaison with various service providers and foster effective relationships with community representatives
  • Update various internal databases such as Oracle HCM, Kronos, etc. to keep employee information and organizational rules up to date
  • Generate reports on key metrics and create presentations reflective of analyzed trends using system generated software
  • Manipulate data in Excel using formulas and pivot tables
  • Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize employee celebration events) and responsible for coordinating HR and community events (e.g. Thanksgiving for Thousands, Christmas Party, Service Award, Employees of the Month, etc.)
  • Be an advocate for team members
  • Drive reduction in turnover and improved retention partnering with Operations and Retention teams and ensure program compliance
  • Assist in Benefits department and provide a subject matter expert level of service to our team members
  • Assist in conducting candidate interviews and employee selection
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and recommends necessary changes that will foster a strong relationship with the workforce
  • Frequent visits to the plant production floor to be available to the employees
  • Follows safety regulations and demonstrates a commitment to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area
Educations/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years related experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment supporting a client population greater than 1500 employees
  • PHR and/or SHRM Certification preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of Oracle HCM and Kronos
  • Must be able to maintain the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees on all levels
  • Must be able to prioritize, manage time and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of accepted business practices relating to HR, company policies and procedures
  • Work schedule: Split Shift Schedule (Open to Discuss Hours) Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday
  • Knowledge of HR related regulations including but not limited to FMLA, EEOC, ADA, FLSA and ADEA reporting and other federal laws
