ob Summary:

Assist Facilities Manager with all facilities maintenance issues at LSI properties. Work under limited supervision performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the maintenance and upkeep of  all owned and leased facilities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Troubleshoot minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
• Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, and leaking faucets.
• Perform routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps.
• Painting interior and exterior, wall repair, hole patching, and touch-up.
• Purchase supplies, equipment and materials necessary to complete projects.
• Assemble and move furniture and equipment, hang pictures and white boards, move and set up tables and chairs.
• Repair and replace door knobs, locks, and door closures.
• Perform grounds keeping around buildings, trash policing, keeping driveways and walkways free of debris. Conduct regular inspections to determine areas that need attention and then perform the task.
• Assist custodian on an as needed basis with tasks.
• Must be capable of safely handling government furnished equipment and materials.
• Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
• Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of buildings.
• Skill in using hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Must be able to safely drive company-owned vehicle as needed.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, production shop personnel, and outside contractors.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Must be well organized and have superior attention to detail.
• Electrical experience required.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
• Three (3) years building maintenance experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A valid Florida driver’s license is required.
