Nationwide forest products company has an opening for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic in their Compton, CA facility, and they are seeking talented veteran technicians. This facility manufactures corrugated packaging products for local and national customers. Our client is looking for a motivated individual who can perform a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. Their workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality, and productivity. Candidates must be willing to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, weekends, and overtime as required.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include:

- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment

- Reading blueprints, schematics, and drawings

- Performing preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels

- Performing emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations

- Accurately using measurement and test equipment

- Performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed

- Installing wire and conduit for newly installed and existing equipment such as conveyors, programmable controllers, and machinery

- Replacing faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices such as proximity switch timers, scanners, and photo electric devices

- Diagnosing and repair/replace faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards

- Troubleshooting drives, that is, AC and DC

- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment; responsible for proper waste disposal

- Receptive to training and perform other duties as required

- Following all safety rules and practices

10-20 hours overtime/week, great benefits
