As a Director, Financial Reporting you will lead all aspects of PPG's financial reporting process, including the preparation and filing of all reports in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, technical research and implementation of new accounting standards, evaluating contracts and transactions for proper accounting treatment, and accounting for certain technical areas.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the timely and accurate preparation and filing of all external financial reporting documents and other related SEC filings including Form 10-K, 10-Q, 11-K and 8-K; take overall responsibility for all financial information, preparation of footnote disclosures, MD&A and iXBRL data.
  • Serve as the subject matter leader and provide guidance on technical accounting and reporting matters by utilizing new accounting literature, implementing new accounting standards and preparing of accounting position memos
  • Demonstrate leadership within the team and contribute to establishing and maintaining effective accounting policies, procedures and systems with a view to ensure that the recording, analysis and reporting of financial information is available at all levels of the company on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Partner with the VP of Investor Relations in preparing and reviewing financial information in press releases, investor presentations and quarterly earnings call scripts.
  • Lead all aspects of the preparation and review of internal financial statements distributed to executive management on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audit.
  • Benchmark standard methodologies to ensure reporting practices are leading among industry peers. Identify and deliver internal process improvements to continuously enhance the quality and efficiency of reporting process.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution is required
  • Active CPA license is required
  • At least 8 years of proven experience with a large national public accounting firm or equivalent with Corporate experience preparing financial statements and SEC filings
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations
  • Professional skills with Microsoft Office Suite required. Knowledge of Workiva a plus.
  • Experience writing technical accounting memos
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
