Summary of Duties:

  • Performs project planning and manages project resources, including multiple individuals and disciplines, to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • Provides technical consultation to management and others, and leads technical project teams
  • Performs and analyzes routine to moderately complex engineering functions, applying mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies
  • Follows established procedures in completing multiple technical assignments
  • Design of new and current products, programs, components, tools and acceptance equipment to meet requirements
  • Develops test procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to assure product manufacturability
  • Interacts with customers, design agencies, suppliers, and internal organizations to assist in resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues
  • Evaluates opportunities for defect prevention based on standard or accepted technical practices and recommends preventive corrective actions
  • Leads, trains and mentors Engineer I and II on various engineering best practices
  • May perform other duties as required
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment Takes actions necessary to ""stop"" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified
  • Executes product design and development through all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Design of new and current products, programs, components, tools and acceptance equipment to meet specific requirements.  
  • Creates robust technical data packages from design concepts.

You Must Have:

  • U.S. citizenship needed in order to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy Q-level security clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution/program
  • Six or more years of experience in Engineering or related technical activities, such as manufacturing, inspection processing or tool design

We Value:

  • Existing DOE Q-Clearance desirable
  • Experience with IBM Rational Tools or equivalent.
  • Experience with electronics design, power electronics design, CCA, digital and/or analog design
  • Experience with System integration of complex systems and sensors
  • Experience with exciter and pulsed power circuits
  • System modeling with SysML, UML or Simulink
  • Experience as an Agile Product Owner
  • Experience operating electrical and environmental test equipment in an environmental test laboratory. (MIL-STD-810, DO-160G, etc.)
  • Ability to apply advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to complex engineering projects
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision with latitude for independent action and decision making
  • Experience interacting with and presenting to multiple levels of technical stakeholders and customers
  • Experience connecting design to manufacturing, driving consistency, reliability and producibility
  • Interest in and willingness to undertake variety of engineering assignments
