We are looking for a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Billing Specialist to join our Smart Vehicle Solutions contact centre located in Markham. Our team has been in place for more than 20 years assisting the public, vehicle owners and operators, and inspection centres across North America. Reporting into the Billing Operations Manager, the Billing Specialist is responsible for responding to billing related inquires via various service channels such as phone and chat.  In addition, they perform administrative tasks to support the full billing cycle such as reconciliation and validation of inspection fees.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handling billing inquiries via telephone calls, emails, web-tickets and chat interactions from Inspections Centre representatives
  • Reconciliation of daily pre-authorized debit transactions
  • Prepare daily reports for leadership team on revenue received and discrepancies identified
  • Prepare monthly billing operational reports for various billing projects
  • Outreach to Inspection Centre to follow up on inspection fee related discrepancies
  • Work with Billing Manager to resolve complex billing issues
  • Collaborate with the Billing Manager to update Billing Department Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain service levels and adhere to departmental statistics.
  • Identify opportunities to promote continuous improvement within the billing operations team
  • Achieve Quality Assurance targets.
  • Work with minimal supervision within departmental defined procedures.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency working in both English and Spanish
  • Minimum 2 (two) year customer service experience
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma preferred
  • Pleasant telephone manner; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Strong numerical aptitude and excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles would be considered an asset
  • Ability to multitask without compromising the accuracy of your work
  • Work independently and as part of a team, with changing time constraints.
  • Must be flexible to work a shift ranging between 8:00AM-7:00PM, Monday to Friday, occasional weekend Saturday and Sunday shifts may be required
  • Must be flexible to work Canadian holidays
