Director I Product Development/Platform Lead on the Diversified Business Group (DBG) Advanced Analytics and Services team focused on creating scalable common platform services with an initial focus on data acquisition and rights management. The position is responsible for directing the development and implementation of new products and modifications of existing products. The role requires the lead to create and evangelize common service visions and strategic plans, manage a portfolio, and deliver scalable solutions focused on solving business problems.

 

Further, the Director I Product Development will be responsible for working collaboratively with a cross-functional team to align with business priorities, seamlessly embed new solutions within workflows, manage existing solutions, and deliver new solutions at scale.  This role will manage a nationally located product management team to accomplish these goals.

 

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Directing solution suite activities focused on setting and achieving tactical and strategic goals
  • Working closely with business and technology leaders to align investment decisions to short- and long-term business performance goals – including innovation vectors for formal exploration.
  • Directing the management of solution area performance results.
  • Standardizing lifecycle phases of key solution areas and centralizing end to end governance – portfolio management, aligned program increments and associated ceremonies, and solution launches.
  • Overseeing strategy and implementation of new products or product changes/enhancements. Developing and maintaining multi-year product roadmaps across products and segments.
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and making recommendations for existing products.
  •  Determining customer needs and preferences through research and analysis of industry technology, current processes, and other methods.
  • Monitoring product performance and the competitive environment by benefit design, market segment and sub region.
  • Ensuring products meet competitive and legislative needs.
  • Supporting the development of short- and long-term strategic product promotions in support of market, sales, and profitability objectives.
  • Identifying system needs to support short- and long-term product strategy.
  • Establishing product development policies and best practices.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

 

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS degree; 7 years of experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  •  

    Preferred skills:

     

  • MBA preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experience with bringing solutions to the market desired.
  • Strong leadership and organization skills.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with colleagues across a range of experience and technical expertise.
  • Solid understanding of provider audits and related vendor/competitor marketplace.
  • Strong communication, and business acumen experience.
  • Ability to drive team development in the area of product management.
  • Ability to influence behavior.
  • Excellent facilitation skills.
  • Ability to travel required.
