Title: Embedded Software Technical Lead (Linux)

Primary Location: Monterrey - Nuevo León

Function: Product Engineering

Main Responsibilities

+ Design, develop, and provide support for proprietary embedded Linux distribution that enables telematic equipment and digital displays to effectively perform in robust on/off road vehicles and harsh environments.

+ This person should be able to setup an embedded Linux environment from scratch, using build systems (Yocto/Buildroot) to create custom Linux distros; and debug the system which may interface with hardware using protocols including I2C, SPI, GPIO, etc.

+ Proficient knowledge of the Linux kernel stack and subsystems, development for multiple architectures (ARM, PowerPC, X86_64), and hardware component integration with the Linux Kernel

+ This position requires complex architectural development, detailed design/analysis, device drivers design, implementation, and kernel debugging experience for embedded Linux systems, and in-depth knowledge on low-level board support packages.

+ This person will plan, coordinate, and perform tasks to meet quality, delivery and cost goals with minimal supervision. This position requires a high degree of technical judgment, independent thinking, experience and unique development approaches to solutions and ability to mentor other engineers on complex technical issues when needed

+ Be responsible for requirement definition, analysis, design, development, and integration of device drivers for our products.

+ This person will work in a team environment providing mentoring and technical guidance to ensure the final product performs at levels specified in the product specifications.

Required Skills, Knowledge, & Relevant Work Experience

+ 4+ years of experience in firmware (Embedded Software) development | 4+ years of experience in C or C++ programming language | 4+ years of experience with microcontrollers, ARMs, DSPs, and/or PSoCs | 4+ years of experience with scripting languages such as python | 3+ years of work experience with Linux Kernel configuration and driver development for embedded systems

+ Experience with embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto and writing BitBake Recipes | Experience with communication networks (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, Wifi, etc.) | Experience with microcontroller peripherals and systems (e.g. Displays, PWM outputs, boot loaders, A/D converters, watchdog timers, interrupt and trap functions, serial and parallel interfaces, etc.)

+ Development and debugging tools (e.g. source level debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters) | Good understanding of Real-Time Operating System concepts, task schedulers, and application development | Able to work on complex algorithms/features | Proven experience on product/process development standards | Fast adapting to new ways of development depending on new technologies | Good written and verbal communication skills (English)

Education (or equivalent experience):

B.S. Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Digital Systems, and Robotics Engineering or similar.
