Occ Summary

Perform a variety of technical tasks involv edinoperating radiographicequipment and making radiographs of designated anatomical areas ofinterest.


Work Performed

Perform avariety of tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to makeradiograp hsof designated anatomical areas of interest. Adjust equipmentfor proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiationsafety guid elines.Explain x-ray procedures to patients.Position patients for each anatomical view using positioning assistancedevices and protective equipm ent as necessary.Monitor accessory equipment and assist the physician wi th fluoroscopicprocedures and special radiographic procedures.Accurately process images for optimal quality.Match with appropriatepaperwork fori nterpretation.Charge radiographic procedures in; able to modify orderspe r protocol.Demonstrate acceptable film quality standards by critiquingpo sitioning,technical factors, and collimation.Understands and uses theIma ge Archival SystemProvide education and training to DUHS affiliatedradio logy technologyprograms.Provide orientation to new technologists.Perform other related duties incidental to the work herein**DUHS offers careergr owth and enrichment within Imagingservices.There is a clinical ladderpr ogram with various steps and opportunitiesat each hospital within thehea lth system.

Minimum Qualifications


Education

Completion of an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology


Experience

Level I must obtain ARRT certification within one year of employment. Level II Minimum of two years' experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist. Level III A minimum of 4 years' experience within specialty modality in which they are seeking promotion
