We are seeking a highly motivated Statistical/Budget analyst to join GEICO's IT Planning & Budgeting team. The Statistical/Budget Analyst will identify process improvement opportunities, prepare reports and make data-driven decisions based upon research of contracts and project driven expenditures. To achieve success in this position, the associate must be a detailed-oriented self-starter that can conduct independent research and analysis, review budgets, contracts and financial statements, solve complex business problems, formulate recommendations, and follow through with execution. The ideal candidate must be able to work well as part of a team, while managing their assignments independently. Strong time management skills are a must.

Responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing the IT department's annual budget
  • Working with other teams to request data needed for research and analysis
  • Researching expense and capital accounts
  • Keying budget and planning information into various systems
  • Validating data flowing through various budget and planning system
  • Preparing reports, briefings, extracting data, and presenting to IT management
  • Forecasting and projecting financial needs
  • Providing capacity and utilization for various products and service

Candidate Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business preferred
  • Proven track-record of analytical thinking and mathematical knowledge (especially related to business & finance)
  • Ability to leverage productivity tools, such as MS Office Suite
  • High proficiency in Excel using pivot tables, v-lookup, etc.
  • Demonstrated skills in leading small-scaled projects while meeting deliverables and timelines
  • Evidence of excellent written and oral communications
  • Able to work under periods of pressure with deadlines during key planning and budgeting periods
  • At times, additional hours may be required to complete projects and tasks
  • Proficiency using reporting tools (such as, Power Pivot, Power BI and Qlik) are desired but not required
  • Must be able to work at our Plaza location in Chevy Chase, MD

Salary Information:

Starting commensurate with experience
