The Strategy, Digital and Innovation (SDI) team forges the strategic direction of Wells Fargo, provides and manages our digital foundation and common capabilities, and transforms our business models to meet evolving customer needs and grow the company. The investments we are making will help the company create innovative digital banking experiences, and make it easier for customers to achieve their financial goals.

Strategy, Digital & Innovation group is responsible for Corporate Strategy and its Digital and Innovation teams. The group positions Wells Fargo for the future by enhancing the company’s focus on planning for the digital future and investing in the customer experience. The group leads corporate strategic planning; defines and manages digital platform standards and capabilities; and manages innovation priorities, opportunities, and company wide efforts to drive transformation. The team works closely with the company’s Technology Group and business lines to deliver digital solutions and innovation to customers that are integrated, intuitive, and seamless across channels.

The Innovation Design team is part of the Innovation and R&D Group focusing on delivering transformative user experiences while practicing design thinking and user centered design methodologies. We are looking for a versatile Product Designer - competent with executing design and comfortable with leading exploration and discovery - to join our Experience Design practice.

Job responsibilities

  • Drive discovery and user-centered exploration by employing a broad array of design tools  and methods including journeys, personas and user research, user flows, templates, prototypes
  • Lead design and execution of complex, industry-leading customer experience solutions - from concept to high fidelity interactions
  • Assess business, user and technical requirements. Analyze relevant internal and external sites and consult standards and guidelines as well as policies to determine best practices
  • Influence strategic direction and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers, direct managers, and executive level stakeholders
  • Work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Develop new research and tests theories that lead to alternative, leading edge design solutions
  • Participate in setting up, conducting and analyzing user testing

Location:  San Francisco CA or Charlotte, NC
Relocation Assistance is not available for this position
This position will work remotely until COVID restrictions are lifted



Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: digital customer experience, digital product/program management, digital platforms, or digital consulting demonstrated through work or military experience
  • 6+ years of interaction design experience

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities



Other Desired Qualifications
  • A deep understanding of how to apply the methodologies of interaction design and research.
  • Applied knowledge of strategic design tools and frameworks, including user journeys, personas, user needs analysis, and process mapping
  • Ability to conduct lean user research and testing
  • Understanding of when to innovate and when to fall back on familiar and proven interactions
  • Proficiency with Adobe CC, Sketch, Figma, and other relevant UX and UI design tools
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and frequently changing project direction
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills, ability to lead and facilitate discovery and research
  • Articulate and comfortable presenting and defending their work




Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

CA-SF-Financial District: Min: $109,200 Mid: $156,000 Max: $202,800
NC-Charlotte: Min: $91,000 Mid: $130,000 Max: $169,000
