The Zillow Rich Media Experiences Team (RMX) is re-imagining the home shopping experience, giving people the feeling of being there from the convenience of their phones or PCs. Using groundbreaking technologies, our team works across product, research, engineering, and business to enable people to walk through a home virtually. About the role
As an engineering manager in the RMX team, you will lead a cross-discipline team of engineers building software tools for inferring the structure and content of homes from images and other sensor data. You will have accountability for the efficiency and effectiveness of our teams and positioning them to thrive. You will be encouraged to think out of the box and challenge established expectations, not only by building on what we already have, but also by coming up with new insights that fuel innovation and creativity!
As a Key Leader on the Team You Will:
- Be responsible for the development and delivery of highly scalable web applications and services.
- Lead a team of software developers, machine learning engineers, and applied scientists.
- Guide the architecture direction and consider tradeoffs across full-stack products.
- Collaborate with other teams and leaders.
- Recruit, hire, and develop an outstanding team.
- Be customer focused and collect continuous feedback from our users to evolve the product.
- Champion operational excellence with a dedication to outstanding, reliable, and easy to maintain products.
- Create a collaborative environment where all can thrive and bring fun to work.
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience building highly scalable applications and/or distributed systems on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- 2+ years in a management or tech leadership role
- Experience collaborating with researchers or working in a research role
- Knowledge of 3D graphics, computer vision, and/or machine learning
- Skilled in mentoring and developing outstanding engineers in teams of 6-10
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results
- Experience with React, NodeJS, AWS, Lambda, and serverless architecture are a plus
