The Credit Card Senior Manager will report directly to the Vice President, Customer Marketing and is accountable for the P&L delivery of Ulta Beauty's proprietary credit card portfolio which delivers $60M+ in earnings/year and growing. The primary responsibility is to ensure Ulta Beauty's proprietary credit card program delivers member acquisition targets, sales projections, partner royalties/bounties, and overall member engagement. This individual is responsible for implementation and execution of the program, the development of the annual marketing plan, and program strategy to maximize growth and portfolio profitability.

This role will serve as the liaison to Ulta Beauty field leaders by establishing store specific goals and partnering to deliver field metrics that drive earnings delivery. They will partner with field leaders to identify opportunities and develop specific programs, training, and marketing materials to enhance performance delivery.

This role is responsible for managing the relationship with Alliance Data, Ulta Beauty's bank partner and serves a critical leadership role on the Joint Management Committee (JMC) which is comprised of C-level executives from both companies. This individual will facilitate the quarterly meetings to review portfolio performance and gain alignment on program investment.


  • Responsible for delivering earnings through achievement of credit card acquisition targets and credit card sales while managing joint marketing budget and overhead expenses.
  • Accountable for the relationship with Alliance Data, Ulta Beauty's bank partner to ensure exceptional service with a focus on optimization of the credit card portfolio in an ROI-focused manner while fostering a collaborative environment to encourage a respectful exchange of ideas between cross-teams.
  • Leads and facilitates the Joint Management Committee, which is comprised of ADS/Ulta Beauty C-Level executives to align on program investment for mutual growth.
  • Liaison with field leaders on store goals and ongoing performance. Identify and execute on opportunities to assist store performance and growth to drive the earnings delivery.
  • Develop strategies and manage the implementation of multiple cross-channel credit card campaigns by partnering with internal creative and production teams to design, produce, and execute impactful marketing communications on-time with accuracy and with appropriate budget/tracking in place to maximize portfolio performance.
  • Represent Ulta Beauty and work collaboratively with legal and procurement on the contract renegotiation with Alliance Data or manage the RFP process to identify, select, and negotiate an agreement with a new Bank Partner and extract enhanced value to Ulta Beauty.
  • Manage a team of three direct reports and provide coaching and feedback to ensure department level standards.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, or equivalent education/and or related field
  • A minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in marketing or finance
  • Understanding and experience of credit card industry (Bank Card/Cobrand)
  • 5+ years of P&L leadership experience and experienced in contract negotiation and partner management
  • Working knowledge of developing and executing marketing strategies to drive customer engagement
  • In-depth analytical skills and familiarity with budgeting/forecasting and business analysis
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
