Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) – Remote, Full Time  

Summary:

Working in a predominantly Microsoft shop as a SDET with one of the applications teams, you will contribute to all aspects of QA process, from understanding the new features' specifications and building test strategies to automating the tests and configuring them to run on the recurring basis.  Working closely with other Quality Engineers, SDETs, Developers, Business analysts, and Product Owners, you will grow your knowledge and creativity to craft effective test solutions (manual and automated) to ensure a high-quality product..

As a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) you will:

  • Drive quality within your designated SCRUM team ensuring proper coverage
  • Participate in all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Defect Review, Sprint Demo, Retrospectives etc.), representing QA to provide estimates, test status and risk assessment
  • Develop, automate and maintain highly effective test cases during each sprint of the Agile life cycle
  • Perform in-sprint automation testing focusing on Integration layer (API) and E2E (UI) testing, regression final build certification and release day testing
  • Be a Champion for Customer Obsession culture and deliver products/ features that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Driving actions & shift left strategy to improve Quality
  • Analyzing test results, being a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
  • Working with software engineers to understand product architecture, integrations and features
  • Identify software quality risks and anticipate potential software problems at the earliest possible instance
  • Self-motivated, ability to work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision
  • Identify and classify defects for review and work with product owners to determine course of action
  • Coaching his/ her fellow team members on best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with:
    • Strong Object-Oriented Programming skills - C# (preferred)
    • Selenium, Behavior Driven Development (BDD) frameworks
    • nUnit or Junit
  • Knowledge in web services testing via Rest Assured/Postman
  • Should have working experience with Specflow/nUnit/C#/Selenium/Azure DevOps
  • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD related technologies
  • Experience working with Cloud environments - preferably Azure
  • Ability to write complex queries to perform data validation
  • Ability to rapidly debug and solve problems in unfamiliar areas
  • Experience in working in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of the complete SDLC and have knowledge of test processes, planning, and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
