The Software Engineer acts in a lead technical role providing technical guidance and consultation with application teams, clients, and Engineering Managers for their technology domain environments including but not limited to cloud, middleware, operating systems, applications, Software-as-a-Service, and Platform-as-a-Service products. Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices. Provides the strategy and design for projects associated with their technology domain including, upgrades and deployments. Utilizes advanced technologies and methods to integrate their technology domain with other technology domains, enabling the creation of new or expanded heterogeneous environments. Develops new documentation and departmental technical procedures. Directs the gathering of performance statistics to assist in determining hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets. As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems. Leads projects and manages the work of less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported technology domain. Successful applicants will have ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team oriented environment while leading development and implementation of highly complex Internet and Intranet applications. This requires leveraging advanced knowledge and experience with PAAS, Java, Spring Framework, Angular 8+, and SQL skills. The Developer will handle analysis, design, programming, debugging and unit testing and system support. Which includes the opportunity analyze business requirements as they pertain to web-based systems in order to determine and implement the most efficient and cost-effective software/package solution.

This role may serve as a subject matter expert for other technology team members regarding this application set. Support multiple java applications. Responsibilities also includes maintaining existing code, performing enhancements as part of a delivery team, deliver major/minor security fixes and vulnerability remediation as required. In addition to taking ownership of complex production issues as required to support end users of a portfolio of Java applications.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • 5 + years of web application development experience
  • 5+ years of Java experience
  • 5+ years of database experience with 2 or more of the following platforms: Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, MongoDB
  • 3+ years of Spring framework experience such as Spring Boot
  • 3+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services
  • 2+ years of experience with Angular 8 or 9 or newer upgrades for legacy applications
  • 2 + years of experience in one or a combination of the following Enterprise Pipeline Tools: uDeploy (Urbancode Deploy), TFS (Team Foundation Server) GIT, Sonar, Fortify, Blackduck
  • 1+ year of Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) experience
  • 1+ year of Agile experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher



Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
  • Knowledge and understanding of Selenium software testing framework
  • Knowledge and understanding of automated testing
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business partners and project managers
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement large scale/complex software applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: unit, regression, integration, and stress performance testing
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience of Junit/Integration Testing experience.
  • 2+ years of experience of Angular material (Preferred) or Bootstrap and CSS.


Job Expectations

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
  • Flexibility to frequently be on call beyond normal working hours
