Job Summary

Amentum is currently seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to support an IT Managed Services program for Sandia National Laboratories, Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations. The System Administrator will provide on-site and off-site configuration, installation, and troubleshooting support services for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS).
  • Linux physical and virtual server management
  • Linux administration - upgrades, patching and security compliance requirements
  • Linux troubleshooting - setup, account management, file service, network configuration, license management, application hosting and end-user application support
  • Automation and scripting (Bash, Python) of administration tasks
Minimum Requirements

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience OR an Associate's degree and 5 years of related experience OR HS/GED and 8 years of expereince.
  • Linux physical and virtual server management
  • Linux administration - upgrades, patching and security compliance requirements
  • Linux troubleshooting - setup, account management, file service, network configuration, license management, application hosting and end-user application support
  • Experience with Ansible, authentication, docker and containers
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors
  • Classified support STIG familiarity or experience
  • Active Department of Energy Security Clearance
