Be part of the logistics team responsible for transforming Honeywell’s El Paso Distribution Center. As the lead logistics engineer overseeing material management processes and warehouse automation, you’ll be supporting automation implementation, capital improvements, Kaizen activity, and day-to-day operating efficiency increases. Hands-on familiarity with distribution center equipment and processes is a must. In addition, this role requires strong project-management skills and experience implementing technical process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive lean production methods into existing distribution center processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement (Kaizen) teams.
  • Manage implementation of technical equipment such are material handling robotics, and material picking automation.
  • Analyze material handling bottlenecks and develop appropriate, timely, and actionable solutions.
  • Act as liaison to other functions to resolve warehouse management problems and performance issues.
  • Promote and participate in rapid problem solving to eliminate recurrence of problems and return value stream to standard state
  • Fluency in built-in-quality tools (SPC, Cpk, measurement system analysis, etc.) and history of successful application.
  • Hands-on proficiency in troubleshooting problems with automated warehouse equipment.
  • Respond to warehouse escalations and maximize production operating efficiency.
  • Mentor upcoming engineering talent.

TECHNOLOGIES

  • Warehouse automation system including barcoding, automated packing, automated material robotics (AMRs), etc.
  • SAP distribution center processes for material receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping.
  • Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies for problem solving and continuous improvement.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Associates Degree/ Technical Degree in Engineering or Science.
  • 3+ years of logistics engineering or technician experience.

WE VALUE

  • Logistics experience within an automated warehouse preferred.
  • Experience with warehouse operations including supervision, traffic management, and material management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in SAP logistics screens.
  • Greenbelt/DFSS certifications.
  • Lean Expert certifications.
  • Familiarity with Minitab.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Hands-on experience with machine maintenance.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work.
  • Proficient project management skills.
  • Good knowledge of automation and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with root cause analyses and FMEA generation.
  • Working knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS) tools and theories.
