The Consolidate Network Operations and security Center (CNOSC) provides a consolidated work center with dedicated, certified personnel and systems that provides centralized support to DoD and potentially other government agency programs supporting Service Delivery, Service Assurance, and Security Operations.

AT&T has an opening for a Senior Cybersecurity to support the CNOSC and its customers in providing both Linux/UNIX system administration and software development skills. The candidate will work closely with the other SAs, system vendors, and the end-users to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Skills and familiarity with the Linux Red Hat Operating System are a must. This position also requires strong problem solving and communication skills, as well as the ability to work alone and as a member of the support and development team.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:   

  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Linux RedHat systems within an enterprise server environment.
  • Install O/S patch updates and third-party application updates to maintain reliability and security posture.
  • Install, setup and maintain HP enterprise servers and SANS systems.
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot ESXi virtualization systems.
  • Support a Lab environment for testing software and patch updates before installing them in the Production environment.
  • Create shell scripts as needed to support various monitoring and collection needs.
  • Create and maintain backup of the Redhat/Unix systems and maintain and update the disaster recovery plans of the Redhat/Unix systems.
  • Create and update documentation to support system administration procedures for installing, operating and maintaining the systems.
  • Developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures for new server builds and STIGs.
  • Evaluating and implementing potential new tools and technologies.
  • Working on assigned Change Requests/Problem tickets.
  • Investigating and responding to alerts generated by the various monitoring systems in use.
  • Performing hardware maintenance/repair activities.
  • Ensuring proper planning and execution of major projects/maintenance activities.

Required Clearance:  Top Secret/SCI  (#tssci)

Required Qualifications:  Security + CE at a minimum or any DOD 8570 certification. Requires 7+ years of system administration experience.  Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Highly versed in Linux administration and best practices.

Familiar with enterprise network architectures. Fluency in programming/scripting skills for automation in at least two of Bash, Ruby, Python, and Perl.  General understanding of Linux internals (system calls, file systems, processes, etc…). General understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols (HTTP, FTP, NFS, etc…).

Desired Qualifications:   Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and Red Hat certification.  Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, server system administration skills, Splunk, Windows, Linux.
