GENERAL PURPOSE:
The main focus of this role is the ongoing management and facilitation of all New Store Opening activities, for Ross and dd's. This role will act as the central point of contact in Operations for the Field and Corporate. The Supervisor will work with all key business partners to develop timelines, identify opportunities, troubleshoot issues and improve the New Store Opening, Relocation and Going Out of Business processes.
Key components of this role include understanding Ross & dd's operating procedures, working directly with Stores for feedback and maintaining close relationships with Field Leaders. This role is responsible for driving results through project planning, executive support, analysis and cross-functional communications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervises and facilitates New Store Opening, Relocation and Going Out of Business activities and processes in existing and new markets for Ross & dd's Stores; including creation of project plans, communication to key stakeholders, development of operations procedures, and recommendations to leadership
  • Collaborates with Field Leaders, Construction, IT, Store Planning, Finance, Marketing, and other key business partners to provide operational strategy and direction.
  • Supervises end-to-end processes and documentation including timelines, manuals and training materials.
  • Responsible for communicating all Initiatives and Best Practices in ways that are relevant to New Store, Relocation & Going Out of Business environments.
  • Leads the New Store Opening Coordinator to ensure all end to end Field processes and communication in new stores, relocations, and GOB meet the needs of Stores which includes timeline, training manuals and necessary equipment.
  • Represents field point of view at Corporate and provides operational input to business partners. Recommends best approach to ensure strong Store execution. Acts as an advocate for field needs and serves as escalation contact when required. Attends meetings, conducts status updates with key partners and follows up on action items.
  • Proactively works with Field and HQ business partners to identify opportunities for expense savings, process improvements, and training.
  • Interacts with all levels of management (Sr. Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers and Stores) and is responsible for providing status updates and input as appropriate.
  • Proactively works with Field and HQ Partners to determine complex locations requiring special attention and coordinates additional support as needed.
  • Builds and manages expense budgets associated with New Store Openings, Relocations and Going Out of Business processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • 4+ years of retail management experienceFour-year college degree in business or related field
  • Proficient knowledge of Store Operations Best Practices for Ross & dd's and new store opening processes for both brands
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Strong customer focus. Anticipates customer needs and takes action to meet them; continually searches for ways to increase customer satisfaction and improve processes
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively with Corporate and Field partners
  • Proven ability to think strategically and determine impact of decisions on the business
  • Ability to successfully influence and drive results through cross-functional partnerships
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently with minimal direction
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point; Adobe Suite knowledge a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Occasionally requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
