Job Description

Intel's Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics (AXG) Group is seeking an experienced Quality and Reliability Engineer to ensure Intel's discrete graphics board products meet the highest quality standards of Intel and the customer. This position will report to the Corporate Quality Network and will work closely with cross-functional teams including HW/SW Engineering, regulatory and safety, global supply chain, program management, and Contract Manufacturers to ensure quality and reliability standards are met during product development and manufacturing.  

The Quality and Reliability Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Define, execute, and track product reliability plans, including:
    • Collection of all test data (dynamics, climates, electrical, regulatory, failure analysis, etc.)
    • Managing Outsource Design Manufacturing (ODM) partners, outside test labs, and suppliers in executing the reliability test plan and meeting test schedule.
    • Tracking and driving root cause and corrective action for failures.
    • Evaluate new technologies/features and design appropriate test cases and define test specs.

  • Define, execute, and track product quality plans, including:
    • Manufacturing yield performance: define first-pass and final yield targets for all board assembly and test operations. Establish plans to increase yield targets as the product progresses thru development into high volume manufacturing.
    • Visual and function criteria and sampling rates for Incoming and Outgoing Quality.
    • Regularly reporting quality and reliability metrics to the business unit and Corporate Quality.
    • Represent Product Quality and Reliability Engineering in external forums such as Qualification Approval Boards, and Product Development teams, conducting program updates, quality release criteria grading, and managing exceptions.

  • Domestic and international travel (occasional) to ODM's and suppliers to manage quality and reliability activities may be necessary for the future.

  • This is an individual contributor position, but the successful candidate will act as a team lead to ensure multiple Quality and Reliability Engineer team members deliver standardization in product qualification, manufacturing quality systems, and methods across all product lines and factories.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in  Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Design, Validation, or Quality/Reliability Engineering

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with working with ODM's or Contract Manufacturers.
  • Experience managing several projects at once.
  • Knowledge in one or more areas of quality and reliability and can lead the matrixed team in developing robust engineering solutions to problems utilizing formal education, job experience, and sound judgment.
