Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Spanish speaking, working Field Supervisor to perform and oversee highway maintenance operations in the Dallas, Houston, and Austin, TX area during night shifts. This position requires 75% travel to perform a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

New hires for our Maintenance Technicians on the Texas Regional Travel Crew are eligible for a $500 hiring bonus. *

*Rehires are not eligible for this special hiring bonus. Promotion begins 10/1. Must start with Jorgensen on or before November 30, 2021 and be an active employee at the time of payout. ($200 will be paid out after 60 days and then $300 after 120 days past hire date.) Bonuses are taxable and included with normal pay schedule.

Required Experience:

Must have a valid Driver's License

Must be able to speak Spanish and translate for employees

Minimum 2 years working in highway maintenance or related field

Basic knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Earth

Strong leadership qualities; must have experience in working, overseeing, and leading construction crews

Must be able to travel 75% of the time

Concrete forming and repair experience

Roadway maintenance experience

Wheel loader, Skidsteer, Forklift, Air drill, Asphalt roller, etc operator

MOT Certifications (traffic control)

Preferred Experience:

Snow and Ice removal experience

TCP - Traffic control planner

CDL A Driver license a plus

Clean driving record is essential

Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED

Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)

Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations

Carry out simple arithmetic functions

Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job

Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology

Ability to use smart phone and applications

Ability to adjust to changing work schedule

Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions

Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required

Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule:

Full time, Night shift, Sunday - Thursday. Some Friday and Saturday mornings. Must be flexible and be able to work nights, days, and weekends if necessary for operations. Will work during snow and ice events, and other weather related events.

For over 50 years, Jorgensen has focused entirely on the field of maintenance management.

As the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Chief Engineer, Roy Jorgensen established the basic units of work and highway maintenance standards to be used by his workforce in 1950. After successfully implementing his approach to maintenance management in his home state, Roy saw how he could add value to other transportation and founded Roy Jorgensen Associates in 1961.

Starting as a consulting and training firm, Jorgensen provided service to clients both domestically and internationally. Throughout the 1960’s and to this day, Jorgensen pioneers innovative approaches to planning, organizing, directing, and controlling maintenance work. In 1972, the National Cooperative Highway Research Program published Roy’s landmark research project, “Performance Budgeting System for Highway Maintenance Management”. In this project, Roy revealed the basic principles from which modern maintenance management concepts have evolved worldwide. In addition to successfully providing consulting services to a diverse group of clients, Jorgensen began performing “hands-on” contract maintenance management in 1975.

In all, Jorgensen has developed leading edge consulting services and implemented contract maintenance services for hundreds of public and private infrastructure owners. Today the firm continues to build and modify the original maintenance management concepts developed by Roy Jorgensen and now employs nearly 300 associates in over 30 locations around the world.
