Job Description

Intel's Technology Development Analytics and Technology Automation (TD ATA) organization hires talented software engineers to develop, test, and support factory automation systems that enable Intel to manufacture leading edge semiconductors. As a Software Engineer Intern within TD ATA Automation you will partner with other software engineers on development and validation of quality reliable software systems. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: designing and developing applications, developing databases, providing data analysis and recommendations, enabling automated software testing, executing regression test cases, creating technical documentation.

As a Software Engineers, you'll be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software.
  • Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.
  • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.


You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor's (with 1+ year of experience) or Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or related field. Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by May 2021.

6+ months experience in the following areas:

  • Application of cryptographic algorithms and encryption techniques in modern programming languages and using software architecture principles and design patterns.
  • System development experience using Go, Rust, .NET., and/or C
  • Software troubleshooting and debugging skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Secure DevOps and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)
