Manager, Recruiting – Driver Hiring (**Job Number:** 2113904 )

**Position Summary:**

The Recruiting Manger - Driver Hiring Center is responsible for overseeing all centralized driver recruiting efforts for Penske Logistics, ensuring full support of business needs and a white-glove candidate experience. This is a very exiting role that includes balancing the day to day tactical execution along with an organizational strategy.

In this role you will manage, train, and motivate a staff of supervisors, hiring specialists, and a systems/reporting analyst. You have responsibility for effective resource planning to maximize the productivity of resources (people, systems, etc.). You will continually assess hiring center KPI’s and staff performance through ongoing metrics and business impact assessments. You will provide ongoing updates of the hiring center efforts to field operations leaders, officer level leadership, HR leaders, and field HR managers and recruiting teams. This position will report to the Director of Staffing.

Qualified candidates in this role must have prior driver recruiting or driver hiring experience and have medium to large team leadership experience. Individuals with experience managing recruiting teams or other contact center environments highly preferred. All candidates must have an analytical mindset with the ability to communicate well at all levels in the organization. This position, and our Penske Driver Hiring Center, is based at Penske’s corporate offices in Reading, PA.


- Manage daily operations of driver hiring center, ensuring proper prioritization of recruiting needs, distribution of workload, ensuring all tools and processes are functioning to ensure business continuation. Assist with issue resolution and promote behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction.

- Facilitate strong and efficient collaboration between Operations leaders, HR leaders, and all Recruiting team members to ensure alignment to staffing needs and activities.

- Directs and oversees all staffing activities including the identification of driver needs utilizing internal data, proper system documentation, proper external recruitment campaigns are in alignment with needs, and participation in new business startup planning.

- Assure Driver Hiring Specialists are consistent in their approach to following the recruiting process at Penske, verified through audits, assessments, and customer feedback.

- Coach and develop direct reports including Recruiting Supervisors and Driver Hiring Specialists

- Oversee all necessary team management activities including hiring, performance management, associate relations, expense report management, training and company program compliance. Lead all ongoing team engagement activities that help ensure job satisfaction and workforce productivity.

- Facilitate and handle escalated concerns that fall outside of the Supervisors capabilities.

- Oversight responsibility for contact center technologies including hardware, call routing applications (NICE/Genesys), telephony systems, and other CRM and marketing tools, and Oracle/Taleo Enterprise.

- Use all data and customer feedback to improve the quality of the tools, process, and associate training.

- Deliver key business plan information regarding expense projections, hiring need forecasts, and call volume estimates to Director or other HR leadership.

- Special projects to support organizational initiatives (steering committees, strategy committees, etc.)

- Other projects as assigned by supervisor or other HR Leadership


- 3 years team leadership experience required

- Prior recruiting team or contact center management experience highly preferred.

- Past experience recruiting or hiring professional truck drivers required.

- 3 years project management experience preferred, any quality certifications (Six-Sigma, Lean, TQM, etc.,) preferred.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant recruiting work experience and leadership required

- Must have demonstrated strong organizational and documentation skills

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review reports and make recommendations

- Able to communicate effectively both in-person and through written correspondences and presentations with candidates, peers, managers, and leadership.

- Must have demonstrated internal customer service skills, including troubleshoot and problem solving experiences.

- Detail oriented, self-motivated, strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.

- Willingness to travel, up to 30% to assigned operations by car, plane or train overnight, as required. - Travel may occasionally be short notice as dictated by business needs.

- Excellent knowledge of Internet candidate data mining; recruiting certification preferred

- Strong knowledge of enterprise applicant tracking systems required, prior experience with Taleo preferred

- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
