The Wells Fargo Experience Design (XD) team designs experiences that people love and confidently engage to improve their financial lives. We work closely with Technology and Product Management to ensure we are problem-driven (versus solution) and customer-first. While we have individual expertise across product design, research, content strategy and operations, we all operate as empowered leaders with strong design rationale. A Product Designer partners with Product Management and Engineering on scrum teams to deliver a great customer experience. The Product Designer also works with the bigger design team to ensure the overall end-to-end experience is coherent. Success comes from understanding the customer and business needs, strong collaboration with your peers, taming complexity for our users, creating elegant designs, and ultimately shipping a delightful and empowering product experience.

Who You Are

  • You’re a multifaceted practitioner with proven success delivering great experiences that cross mobile, web, and beyond. You have strong Interaction Design and Visual Design skills, and have developed competency in adjacent areas such as in Information Architecture, Content Strategy, User Research, and Prototyping.
  • You tame complex problems and emerge with elegant solutions, and excel at being the design point person in a cross-functional team. You are detail-oriented but also keep the big picture in mind. You develop a strong point-of-view and articulate robust design rationales.
  • You are largely self-directed, handling your tasks and relationships on your own, and you know when to pull in design reinforcements. You enjoy collaborating cross-functionally, with product managers, developers, business analysts, and other designers to create the best customer experience.
  • Finally, you are organized and like getting things done. You are energized by shipping and you have clear examples of measurable impact.

What you will be responsible for

  • Delivering great products, in partnership with your scrum team and the larger design team, in the areas of: online and mobile banking, payments, financial education, and onboarding
  • Following best practices in creating common design deliverables including: Research Insights, Flows, Wireframes, Design Specifications, Prototypes, and Content Decks. Instead of relying on commonly applied solutions, you will come up with distinct, innovative solutions that creatively address the challenge at hand.
  • Connecting design solutions to product strategy and business value.
  • Estimating and scoping design work executing design work in a timely fashion
  • You will develop and use facilitative leadership skills enable smooth and productive collaboration between you and your team, driving to the best outcome for stakeholders, resulting in others learning from you and inspiring others to want to work with you.
  • Speaking to the details of the design deliverables and user stories, answering questions and resolving ambiguities. Grooming user stories with the scrum team and identifying design-related user stories in the backlog. RWF

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: digital customer experience, digital product/program management, digital platforms, or digital consulting demonstrated through work or military experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong presentation skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5 + years of experience in one or a combination of the following: digital customer experience, digital product or program management, digital platforms or digital consulting
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles: managing projects from beginning to end; that vary in scope and complexity.
  • Although the timeline is uncertain, candidates need to be able to work a hybrid schedule which consists of 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.  
     




Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

CA-SF-Financial District: Min: $96,600 Mid: $138,000
NC-Charlotte: Min: $80,500 Mid: $115,000
