This position will provide expert guidance and leadership to the Product Stewardship and Toxicology function.  The Director, Product Stewardship and Toxicology will provide strategic and technical guidance to business leaders and technology developers regarding all aspects of regulatory compliance, product safety, toxicology and risk assessment.  This position is a key member of the Performance Materials and Technology (PMT) Product Stewardship Leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Results driven product stewardship leader with a passion to succeed in delivering innovative programs and break-through objectives for the function.  
• Involved with the PMT Toxicology function to meet our mission of partnering with business and technology to deliver sustainable products that can be made, used, and disposed of safely.  
• Create the vision and inspire the Americas team of product stewards and toxicologists meet and exceed organizational goals.
• Work closely with business and technology leaders to determine toxicology testing needs for product offerings based on businesses objectives, HSE needs, and current or proposed global regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership support to global product safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
• Interact with Global Regulatory Agencies and Trade Associations to address technical questions related to product stewardship, safety and compliance.
• Anticipate and communicate emerging regulations that may impact existing product lines or benefit new product introduction.
• Manage work and consultant spend for product stewardship and toxicology. 
• Communicate highly technical and regulatory matters to non-experts.    
• Develop skills and careers of direct reports who are middle and advanced career professionals. 
• Serve as Product Stewardship point of contact to one of the PMT strategic business units. 


• Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
• Outstanding verbal, written and presentation clarity.
• Excellent leadership, project management and team building skills; with a proven track record of achieving extraordinary results.
• PhD in relevant discipline with a minimum of 10 years of experience managing toxicology or product stewardship functions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, OECD Guidelines, and various UN Frameworks and Guidelines.
• Demonstrated capability to work within the following regulatory areas: TSCA, REACH, and REACH-like regulations, Hazard Communication and emerging regulation identification.


• Background in chemistry.
• Experience interpreting results of fluorine chemistry toxicology studies would be considered a great asset.
• Experience in New Product Introduction.
• Ability to address/influence a wide range of cultures, disciplines and levels within the organization.
• Willingness and ability to work effectively in a large multi-national matrix organization.
• Work to the highest levels of integrity.
