We’re seeking a talented Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on Cloud Security, Cyber Security and Identity and Access Management

Your key responsibility is to ensure that our applications and infrastructure are designed and implemented to the highest security standards thus maintaining and enhancing customer trust.

+ Provide remote and onsite support and resolution for complex technical issues.

+ Install, configure, administer and monitor systems.

+ Implement pro-active monitoring for better availability and performance.

+ Validate the architecture and use cases in the customer support cycle.

+ Perform regular security reviews, document systems, processes, and procedures.

You’ll have strong technical skills including:o Cloud architectureso Identity, compute and database serviceso Cloud Platform management serviceso Identity and access management policieso Provisioning and Managed Serviceso Networking technologies (DNS, VPN etc.)o Linux and Windows operating systemso LDAP and/or Active Directory

We’re hoping to appoint a seasoned Systems Engineer/DevOps with experience in consultancy and with a pragmatic approach. Good experience working in a myriad of different environments and with a range of Customers (mid-size start-ups or Enterprise organisations)

Someone who has:

+ Hands on experience with AWS based deployments; experience with other cloud platforms a plus (Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform).

+ Strong working knowledge of Linux including SUSE, Windows, and Ubuntu

+ 3yrs+ combined Windows and Linux system administration experience.

+ Cloud security principals, CIS, OS harden, Antivirus and Qualys.

+ Continuous integration/continuous deployment environments.

+ Good communication skills and documentation skills.

+ Strong troubleshooting applications and infrastructure.

A good understanding of DevOps practices and tooling including configuration management and continuous integration and any experience of the below is beneficial;

+ Git, Chef, Terraform, Datadog and Ansible, Jenkins, CloudFormation, AWS Cloudwatch

+ Experience using opensource technology (i.e. Nginx, Memcached, HAProxy, Apache Web Server).

+ Performance tuning for Linux and web applications.

+ Experience in clustered/scaling systems.

+ Cloud economics, cost, forecasting and knowledge of cloud provider discounting and billing.

We’ll need you to be available for rotating on-call work and also be willing to travel nationally from time to time.

AWS Certifications: AWS Certified Security – Specialty, along with one of the following:

+ AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate

+ AWS Certified Developer - Associate

+ AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

OR

+ Azure Certifications: Azure Security Engineer, along with one of the following:

+ Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Solutions Associate.

+ Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD)

Bonus Skills:

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle database administration activities including backup strategies and alerting.

+ Expertise in one modern programming language (Python, Node.js, Golang, Ruby etc.).

+ Relevant OS certifications (such as MCSE or RH-CE, SUSE-CE) or Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP, OCE)
