In this role you will support the engineering team by performing preliminary and detailed level component and system design, development, and integration for flight as well as ground systems\. Your duties will include responsibility for the design, procurement and test for the Solid Rocket Motor Assembly\. This job requires coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, subcontracts, quality, structure design, analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities\.

Other duties may include:

• Support subsystem integration

• Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion components

• Perform trade studies to select the appropriate design solution

• Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components

• Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical analyses to support systems and components

• Provide requirements flow\-down, verification, and maintain technical baseline at the suppliers

• Ability to work on a multi\-disciplined team performing design trades, detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems\.

• Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review\.

**Basic Qualifications:**

• Knowledge of mechanical CAD modeling and drafting

• Understanding of mechanical and propulsion engineering principals

• Ability to own technical challenges through solution

• US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

**Desired Skills:**

• Familiarity with propulsion subsystem integration; solid rocket motor experienced preferred

• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing \(GD&T\)

• Hands on hardware experience

• User of CREO CAD software

• Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields \(systems engineering, ordnance, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality…\)

• Knowledge of requirement development and management

• Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non\-technical audiences
