Position Specific Description

In this role you would directly impact our goal of aggressively growing our renewable asset production by facilitating site development, while ensuring compliance with Zoning and Land Development Regulations. In this position you will be heavily involved with Renewable Energy Development projects from beginning to end, to include exposure to cross functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization. You will be an active part of leading the charge in community development, project permitting, zoning, and business development efforts. Beyond the requirements below, you will also be responsible for presenting your updates and findings to Development leadership, and also providing your thoughts and input on a daily basis to make for a collaborative and dynamic team. You will travel across our various sites extensively, and be given the chance to dive into the process and progression of new projects. Candidates with a strong permitting and zoning background typically excel in this role. Members of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)also highly preferred.

Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new or enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completedon timeand within budgetary constraints.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive results
  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, thirdparties and members of the community
  • Identifies opportunities and negotiates power sales contracts
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad /GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 8+ years
