You will collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will participate in all phases of product development (C/C composites) used as the friction material in aircraft brakes and will be part of a group of talented professionals whose expertise ensures the success of new product development.

Key Responsibilities

·       Directly drive and leads carbon advancement projects, R&D projects, and manufacturability improvement projects while prioritizing/monitoring progress and taking corrective action when needed.

·       Participates in the development of technical/business approaches and/or the recommendation of future product enhancements.

·       Develops technical solutions, testing methodology in compliance with application requirements and trade off analysis for carbon composite

·       Ensures projects meet requirements for performance, cost, quality, and schedule

·       Coaches and mentors team members for technical skillset development and promotes the winning spirit for pursuing excellence

·       Presents technical findings and communicates effectively to directors

·       Strong background in carbon fiber preforming technologies and related application to drive technical decisions for preform architectures

·       Guides technical review discussions and proposes alternative solutions with good understanding on industrial CVD/CVI processes

·       Strong background and knowledge on high temperature antioxidant coatings for C/C composites to drive technical development and decisions on the choice of antioxidants for various applications.


·       Master Degree in Material Science & Engineering or Chemical Engineering/Chemistry fields

·       7+ yrs industrial working experience on carbon/ceramic composite related field

·       C/C composite related research and industrial application working experiences


·       Master or Ph.D. studies in carbon or graphite related applications

·       Expertise and experience in C/C manufacturing processes (fibrous preforms and CVI, Pitch and/or resin densification), carbon structures, carbon properties and their inter-dependencies

·       Expertise and experience in methods to characterize carbons and ceramic materials (optical microscopy, XRD, Raman, SEM, TEM, XPS, Mechanical property and thermal property tests) 

·       Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.

·       Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.

·       Ability to create and communicate solutions to complex technical challenges
