**Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Assembly)**

**Description**

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Assembly) to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Power Systems Business Segment in Columbus, IN. This role oversees Manufacturing Engineering leadership/support for Assembly, and/or Upfit/Paint areas as well as direct contributor as a manufacturing engineer.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

+ Will be responsible for managing, mentoring, and developing less experienced engineers and exempt/hourly direct reports within assigned team.

+ Ownership of all processes, tools, and floorplans for assigned area(s), as well as leading/participating in quality and HSE investigations/improvement projects.

+ Must possess strong communication skills, be a self-starter, capable and effective leading and resolving immediate production equipment or process issues, as well as identifying and working long term improvement projects.

+ Works cross functionally with Operations, Quality, Materials, & HSE teams. Other projects/tasks will be assigned as necessary.

+ Manages the activities for a department including budgeting, resource planning, project management activities, and peer reviews for the purchase, and implementation of manufacturing integrated equipment, systems, and processes. Manages, coaches, and develops direct and indirect team members. Leads the process of working with outside suppliers.

+ Manages personnel in the Manufacturing Engineering Function related to departmental activities and performance standards

+ Leads the development of departmental plans and deliverables. Leads the communications with all stakeholders.

**Qualifications**

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

+ A STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related bachelor degree or higher. 5-7 years in a Manufacturing Engineer role.

+ Must have 5 to 7 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer as well as 3-5 years of experience managing exempt/hourly Manufacturing Engineering staff.

+ Previous experience working with PLCs, DC Torque equipment operation and programming, and troubleshooting equipment/machine faults and failures required.

+ Utilization of Oracle material control systems, Information Management Systems, and non-system-based processes will be required.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
