JOB DESCRIPTION
Negotiate and executes tripartite contracts with Bank of America clients and their lenders to both protect the bank and perfect an effective charge or security interest. Manage events subsequent to initial contract establishment including amendments, substitutions, activations and terminations. Leverage experience, industry standards and knowledge of account documentation and products, and Bank of America policies to address credit, risk compliance, legal, operational, and business issues. Knowledge of the broader GTS business, particularly bank accounts provides helpful context. The broader contract management team support all GTS business which includes master agreements and supporting documentation for account opening, treasury management, foreign exchange, trade services and card products.

A successful Contract Negotiator will:
  • Facilitate communications among sales, implementation, product, operations, compliance, risk, credit officers, legal staff, and client managers to promptly resolve documentation issues.
  • Organize and prioritize a large number of competing, complex documentation assignments to meet customer needs.
  • Present excellent analytical, verbal and written communications skills and is comfortable representing the bank in communications with associates, clients and internal/external counsel at all levels of management.
  • Advise and educate internal associates about documentation standards and options, policies and procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree (Pre-Law or Business preferred)
  • Experience of running contract negotiations/contract and legal knowledge
  • Accuracy and ability to work under pressure
  • Paralegal or technical training on contracts
  • Broad knowledge of and comfort working with complex legal documentation (contracts)
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communications skills. Comfortable representing the bank in communications with associates, clients and internal/external counsel at all levels of management.
  • Negotiation skills - conducts negotiations effectively, balancing competing objectives to achieve optimal results
  • Risk aware (including of the protections that the various aspects of our agreements seek to achieve)
  • Strong project management and process skills, able to handle full workload with tight deadlines
  • Ability to develop effective and positive client relationships
  • Ability to maintain objectivity in balancing bank risk with client needs and satisfaction
  • Ability to adapt and dynamically prioritize
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-assured, Independent and Driven

DESIRED SKILLS
  • Knowledge of Blocked Accounts end to end process and risks
