We want to make sure we are both innovative and rigorous as we build out our Data science function and determine the optimal ways to deliver high ROI campaigns and improve CVS shopper experience.

We are looking for a skilled hands-on Digital Media Data science Sr. Manager with strong digital and technology experience to lead a newly formed data science stream and to partner with marketing strategy, media activation, creative, partner management as well as CVS FS and Rx Marketing analytics teams.

The Data Science Sr. Manager works with paid and organic 1P, 2P and 3P data, applies quantitative methods to measure and predict the impact of CMX media on incremental sales and shopper experience, and translates the findings into consumer-centric recommendations that maximize the effectiveness of CPG’s investments and CVS business. This role will play an instrumental role in delivering unique performance deep dives, EDAs, A/B tests, in-flight optimization, marketing mix models, CLTV, attribution models, propensity to buy models, LAL and other statistical models.

The ideal candidate must have a deep knowledge of data science and statistical techniques and be able to implement them within a retail media context. Experience within the digital media, e-commerce, retail or Consumer Packaged Goods is A MUST.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect, process, validate and model data from digital media channels ((ie. DV360, TTD, FB, Pinterest, CTV, Youtube) and 3rd party data providers (ie. IRI, Catalina, Liveramp) using clean room platforms (ie. Liveramp, Axciom) and other analytics platforms (ie. Google ADH, Facebook Advanced analytics) to create strategic insights at campaign and program level
• Develop In-flight optimization solutions to quantify what drives sales and use the results to optimize media strategies at audience, channels and creatives level (ie. ad format, ad position) within and across marketing channels leveraging industry best practices
• Recommend and implement marketing measurement (experimental design and incrementality testing) and attribution (including marketing/media mix modeling) to enable effective measurement
• Lead customer centric data science projects such as path-to-purchase, frequency management, LAL and propensity-based targeting opportunities
• Stay informed of advancements in industry trends and developing technology; ensuring CMX is always at the forefront of the industry.

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of Analytics and Data science experience
• 3+ years leading a team of analysts and data scientists in a fast-paced environment
• Highly proficient in SQL and Python or R
• Proficient in measuring and optimizing marketing spend efficiency in the digital ecosystem (ie. TTD, DV360, GAM, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Youtube, CTV)
• Excellent knowledge of Marketing science concepts applied in the digital world such as Marketing Mix Models, Multi-Touch Attribution, CLTV, propensity to buy and path-to-purchase
• Excellent knowledge of statistical concepts and machine learning models such as regression, GLM, Markov chain, naïve Bayes, decision trees, clustering, factor analysis, time series, etc.
• Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills. Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis clearly to a diverse audience, including senior executives, and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge and experience in identity resolution and digital data connectivity platforms (ie. Liveramp, Acxiom, Experian, Throttle)
• Familiarity with database design, data modeling and ETL process withing cloud environment platforms (ie. GCP, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks)
• Proficient in building dashboards using BI tools such as Tableau
• Understanding of the digital media landscape with a focus on retail media networks

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Advanced Analytics, Statistics or another related field
