About the Team:

The mission of our Digital Operations team is to operate a fault resilient, customer-centered, proactive DevOps team. The team is responsible for supporting systems that deliver AT&T’s customer experience, across multiple internet-facing eCommerce applications, databases, platforms and technology stacks. Our customer-journey centric Ops team is made up of Ops Engineers as well as Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) who are all focused on ensuring a highly available, resilient, performant and secure customer experience.

Job Summary:

This is a fast paced critical position requiring strong technical, educational and communication skills. The EFK Developer will be responsible for helping to migrate existing Splunk Dashboards and Alerts and help drive operations efficiencies through new requirements intake and delivery of new dashboards, enhanced visualizations and instrumenting new alerting best practices through Agile/Scrum methodologies. EFK Developer will also support Problem Management Engineering team helping to identify patterns in logs captured through Elastic Stack in support of reactive root cause and quantification impact analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • 24 x 7 coverage for alerting for web and mobile apps
  • 24 x 7 monitoring enablement for web and mobile apps
  • Create alerts using Elastalert, Xpack, Watcher
  • Gathering new requirements and validating efficiency of alerts and monitors

Shift timing (if any):

  • Shift falls typically between 6 am to 12am India standard time. Occasionally may have to work long hours in situations when it is needed.

Location: Hyderabad / Chennai


Primary / Mandatory skills:

  • Overall Experience:  7+ years in IT Operation experience in that 5+ years in Web Analytics skills, online commerce, or related fields with strong quantitative analytics
  • Development and Scripting knowledge in EFK/ELK, Splunk, Quantum Metric, Dynatrace, CatchPoint, PowerBI
  • Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace Managed, creating alerts Elastalert, Xpack, Watcher: 3 - Intermediate (practical application)
  • administering dashboards, reports, visualizations, and alert monitoring best practices: 3 - Intermediate (practical application)
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills to work in a Global team

 

Secondary / Desired skills:

  • Visualization tool such as Prometheus, Grafana: 2 - Novice (limited experience)
  • experience working on cloud migration/cloud automation/cloud transformation projects: 2 - Novice (limited experience)
  • Software development skills such as HTML, jQuery, CSS, Java, Python, Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, SQL/NOSQL: 2 - Novice (limited experience)
  • Experience working on cloud migration/cloud automation/cloud transformation projects: 2 - Novice (limited experience)

 

Additional information (if any): Willing to work in Shift Duties, Willingness to learn is very important as AT&T offers excellent environment to learn Digital Transformation skills such as cloud, Big data, AI, Full stack etc.

Education Qualification: Bachelor’s/ Masters degree in Computer Science or related field

Certifications (if any specific):  Any Certification related to Primary / Mandatory Skills

Experience:

  • 7+ years IT Operations experience
  • 5+ years Web Analytics skills, online commerce, or related fields with strong quantitative analytics
  • 2+ years of EFK/ELK experience
  • 2+ years of real user monitoring tools (Dynatrace Managed) or -2+ years of experience creating alerts (Elastalert, Xpack, Watcher)
  • 2+ years of experience with enhanced visualization tools (Prometheus, Grafana)-Experience providing data/information to business leaders
  • Experience working in a large scale technically diverse organization
