Background:

ManTech is tasked with providing support to the USCG  Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC).  The RF Systems Division designs, develops, procures, tests and installs short and long range radio systems (e.g. MF, HF, VHF, UHF, commercial satellite, military satellite and terrestrial radio communications systems) to meet established, enterprise-wide requirements. In addition, the support provides life cycle sustainment of these systems including procurement and installation of radio system components at the end of their life cycle or as new communication requirements are developed.

Requirement:

The RF Technician duties include but are not limited to:

  • Verifying accuracy of maintenance procedures and documenting engineering discrepancies
  • Depot level help desk support
  • Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) management
  • System drawing reviews and recommendations
  • Logistics Database management
  • Transitional service from acquisition to sustainment
  • Development of test plans for new shipboard installation systems.

The ideal candidate has experience in creating working plans for wiring diagrams for communications systems including control systems for communications systems both secure and unsecure lines for communications system. This position requires knowledge of installation of antennas.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum security clearance of Secret is required
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Candidates should have experience developing and managing technical documentation in support of RF Systems: Support of HF/VHF/UHF shipboard systems
  • Familiarization with Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) radios
  • Knowledge of integration and design of new systems into Legacy platforms is also a requirement. 
  • BSEE Preferred. Engineering degree not required if candidate has work experience in creating systems designs of communications systems.

Deliverables:

Report writing is required on such topics as Engineering problems and solutions. The report will provide a narrative assessment of each system’s performance and shall identify all noted installation issues.  The report will include recommendations for system improvements as well as rough design layouts.
