Research Associate Job Description:


The Research Associate position in the Hanks Lab will lead and execute scientific research projects in the area of immunotherapy-associated toxicities. This will involve direct laboratory research activities as well as the management of other laboratory staff. In addition, this position will further support the writing of manuscripts, grant proposals, project status reports, as well as patent applications for the research program. Additional administrative duties will cover laboratory regulatory issues and review of laboratory finances. The Research Associate will provide significant intellectual contributions and vision for program growth and development in the area of immunotherapy-associated toxicities as well as the entire research program in tumor immunology and immunotherapy. This position will further be expected to develop and cultivate relationships with various entities in industry as well as foundations to seek out opportunities for collaboration. The individual appropriate for this position will have earned a PhD in an immunology field along with significant experience in various techniques and methodologies in the immunologic sciences, preferably in the field of tumor immunology, along with honed skills in scientific writing, laboratory leadership, and research program organization. This position will be supported by a laboratory manager and research technician.
