Job Description
As the Advisor of Application Development, you will be responsible for Product/Application development for the EDW team. The Advisor, Application Development will be accountable for delivering comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements and incrementally move the data warehouse to the future state. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communications skills, and exceptional follow through.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Perform data profiling, analysis and mining activities by writing queries using DB tools like SQL Developer/Sever, IBM Data Studio, Aginity workbench and PostgreSQL.
• Interact with business partners to gather requirements through various elicitation techniques, including JAD (Joint Application Development) sessions.
• Create Business, Functional and Non-Functional Requirement documents, Metadata Specifications, ETL (Extract Transform and Load) Mapping documents, and Reporting Requirements using requirement gathering tools like RTC and RRC.
• Create Data mapping documents based on the standard reports format like 837-Claims and 834-Member Enrollment transactions.
• Analyze existing manual process and create automation algorithms.
• Perform and manage end to end design, development, integration, testing and deployment, supporting the Dev, QA, UAT and Production phases for the projects using technologies like SQL, IBM data analytics products to meet the requirements.
• Review the application design, component design, integration and unit test plans/results of the project. Analyze QA/UAT defects and production issues.
• Lead Business Analysts, development and testing teams in execution of Agile methodologies by applying advanced domain knowledge to deliver business value.
• Mentoring the team and contribute in providing work estimate for the project and effective communication with the project manager regarding the project schedule, progress, risks and impediments. Provide knowledge transition to production support teams and perform project closure activities upon successful completion of the project.
• Experience on creating Business, Functional and Non-Functional Requirements and delivery of solutions for state/federal mandated All Payer Claim Data base (APCD) state compliance and regulatory initiatives for Health Care/PBM business.
• Provides technical oversight for the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of DW solutions along with required artifacts including design documents, process manuals.
• Create new software products, modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance using datawarehousing technologies.
• Expertise in Data modelling.
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of Data Warehouse best practices, IBM Netezza, Teradata, and ETL Informatica and DataStage.
• Ability to solve issues by coordinating across cross-functional areas by interfacing between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, or resolve customer problems.

• Provide solutions to enable analytics users by applying mathematical principles or statistical approaches to solve problems in scientific or applied fields.

• Work with business users to understand the current state of information available in the upstream systems in the organization and identify the future needs based on the analysis of business requirements, current state environments, gap analysis and future state warehousing implementations.

• Works closely with architects, project managers, and cross-functional teams for estimation, impact analysis, and coordination between different teams in the warehouse.

• Coordinate with internal/External customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance. Provide support to QA teams during the test execution phase of the project.

• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and workload planning skills

• Experience in configuration management and software release principles as well as change management concepts

• Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities as well as exceptional customer service orientation

• Experience in managing medium to large sized projects relating to the delivery of applications or application changes

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

• Lead the development team to set clear expectations of milestones and goals.

• Experience in leveraging Managed Services or 3rd party resources to meet application support requirements

• Represent Data Warehouse in meetings for owned projects.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• 8+ years’ experience in Data Warehousing.
• 4+ years’ experience in Project/Product owner role.
• 5+ years of Teradata, Netezza, Informatica & DataStage experience or related application.
• 8+ years’ experience working in a cross-functional environment.
• 6+ years of APCD state compliance and regulatory projects experience.
• 10+ years of SQL experience to perform data profiling, analysis, and mining activities on complex and big data sources.
• PBM/Healthcare experience.

• Working experience with Agile/SAFE and SDLC methodology.
• Ability to interact and work effectively with technical & non-technical levels within the organization.
• Ability to drive clarity of purpose and goals during release and planning activities
• Excellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize tasks efficiently with high level of attention to detail.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field or 8+ years of relevant work experience
