**Lead Pricing Analyst – Onshore Science**

**Job Summary** **:**

The primary purpose of this role is to lead development and improvement of analytics models and tools in support of Lowe's pricing strategy objectives. Working closely with supported teams, the lead analyst will assist in translating pricing goals and objectives to the underlying data and analytics requirements. Using open source and commercial software data science tools, the analyst will source, clean, and posture data to deliver insights, and determine the most appropriate statistical and machine learning techniques for analytics models. The lead analyst will actively collaborate and partner with other technical and non-technical teams to facilitate technical reviews at various stages of development and incorporate feedback to drive continuous improvement. The lead analyst role is critical in driving Lowe’s to be “best-in-class for retail pricing.

**Key Responsibilities** **:**

+ Under the guidance of the Sr Manager for Pricing Analytics & Insights, lead the development and enhancement of various analytics models (descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive) and tools in support of Lowe’s pricing strategy.

+ Collaborate and partner with Pricing Strategy & Execution, Analytics COE, Merchandising, IT, and others to scope out, prioritize, and develop innovative capabilities.

+ Support the translation of business goals and objectives into analytics and modeling requirements.

+ Design and develop processes to gather, explore, structure, enrich, and clean large datasets from various internal and external sources.

+ Perform data validation, outlier detection, and root cause analysis to prepare inputs for statistical and machine learning models.

+ Research, design, and develop applicable statistical and machine learning approaches for specific business problems.

+ Assess the quality of model output to identify meaningless results and investigate root cause through detailed analysis of data inputs and code.

+ Maintain and improve Item Framework Models delivering Key Value Items (KVI) and other item role segmentations in support of Role of Category and Intent objectives.

+ Leverage various internal/external data sources, analyses, analytics, and financial reporting to provide ongoing refinement of pricing strategies.

+ Work with product managers and other technical teams to support the Pricing Technology Roadmap.

**Required Education/Experience:**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Operations Research or related field

+ 2+ years experience in corporate Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Pricing & Promotions, Merchandising, or Revenue Management

+ 2+ years experience working with common analytics and data science software and technologies such as SQL, Python, or R

**Preferred Education/Experience:**

+ Master’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Operations Research or related field

+ 3+ years experience in corporate Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Pricing & Promotions, Merchandising, or Revenue Management

+ 3+ years experience working with common analytics and data science software and technologies such as SQL, Python, or R

+ Experience in development of demand elasticity models or retail optimization system design for various factors such price, competitor price, and promotion
