POSITION PURPOSE

This role will support Global Custom Commerce, a Home Depot company.  We're an online leader of custom blinds. You will be working on many exciting projects to improve the customer journey in a highly entrepreneurial environment.

We are hiring a passionate and proven visionary to define and drive the next generation of user experiences for our mobile and web products. As UX Manager, you will drive UX direction within ecommerce across web and mobile and lead a team of highly talented designers.

To do this, you should understand and promote user experience design best practices. You should also be able to understand customer behavior, collaborate on conceptual designs for new products, present tested content and experiences to the leadership team, and develop relationships with product managers, developers, and creative teams.

This role will also include hiring, managing, and mentoring a UX team as well as hands-on-work such as performing research to ensure customer expectations are not only being met but exceeded.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • 25% - Manage and develop UX reports  
  • 25% - Conducts competitive and usability research to understand user behavior
  • 30% - Oversees end to end experience and ensures a simple and delighting user experience
  • 20% - Ensures website look and feel, information architecture, and content meet established standards and online best practices

Position reports directly to the VP of Customer Experience

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree program in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 4 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

-7+ years of demonstrable experience as a UX Designer, Interaction Designer, UX Architect, and/or Information Architect

-Experience managing a team of UX designers

-Ability to create UX strategy deliverables including discovery findings, user journey maps, wireframes, creative briefs, competitive and landscape analyses, and concept documentation

-Must be able to manage his/her time effectively by quickly prioritizing projects and by delegating to user experience resources

-Leads the UX team project deliverables to communicate the UX strategy and rationale such as project plans, research, personas, concept documents, task lists, workflows, information architecture, wireframes, page maps, interaction and behavior specifications, visual design and content strategy

-Ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data and present findings and recommendations

-Solid experience employing a variety of user & centered iterative design methodologies and objective evaluation techniques

-Experience participating and facilitating user research and usability

-Ability to maintain strong rapport with teammates, and stakeholders from multiple business groups



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Expertise with mobile responsive website design, development, and optimization.
Ability to code and troubleshoot for all major browsers.
Ability to rapid working prototypes.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
Work extremely well collaboratively; take constructive criticism.
Excellent communication, mentoring, organizational and leadership skills.
Experience working cross departmentally, driving changes collaboratively.
Ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions to business challenges
In-depth knowledge of Adobe Suite.
