Market Job Description


The Principal Associate will design, develop, and implement SRE practices for the Enterprise. The role requires a deep understanding of SRE space – products and tools to drive adoption, evangelization and technical leadership to engage effectively with the larger technology organization. The SRE practices lead will drive SRE organizational construct, functional designs that incorporate the best practices from a SRE standpoint
  • Provide Hands-on experience towards implementing SRE practices and seeing the organization evolve onto to the SRE journey
  • Be the SRE champion to drive SRE organizational construct, functional designs that incorporate the best practices from a SRE standpoint
  • Define SRE designs – providing direction for key focus areas like availability, automation, chaos eng., resiliency, NFRs (non-functional requirements)
  • Demonstrate a highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results oriented leadership style.
  • Provide ‘Thought leadership' – SRE Tools/Methodologies, White papers, representation in industry forums & market intelligence on SRE products and processes
  • Demonstrate expertise in people management with capability to identify, recruit, develop, motivate and retain talent. Ability to manage managers and senior technologists
  • Motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions.
  • Strong knowledge and implementation experience of High Resiliency/High availability applications including scaling, cloud migration, vertical and horizontal scaling, Platform Engineering & Management of ‘End to End' observability products
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cloud computing, PaaS design principles and micro services and containers
  • Understanding of Observability tool set like ELK, App Dynamics and Grafana – including Cloud migration, User adoption and providing solutions for meeting Business KPI's
  • Understanding of integrations with other operational data platforms and tools including Kafka, Splunk, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodology (product development) experience with Agile scrum teams
  • Strong Systems Engineering or Product management or Development experience with observability and monitoring products such as AppDynamics, Grafana, Elastic Search, NewRelic, Prometheus, Wavefront, Cloud monitoring solutions etc.
  • Experience of App cloud migration (GCP, Azure), Microservices, Containers (Docker & Kubernetes) and exposure to SRE strategies for cloud-based apps will be an advantage
  • Experience of AIOPS (Big Panda) - Especially with regards to integration with other observability and alerting systems will be an added advantage

Market Skills and Certifications


  • 17+ years of experience in Engineering/SRE practices
  • Have a strong Technical background with experience of implementing SRE practices at Enterprise Platform level
  • Have a deep understanding of SRE space – products and tools to drive adoption, evangelization and technical leadership to engage effectively with the larger technology organization
  • Hands-on experience of being part of SRE teams - Deep understanding of SRE best practices, experience of real world challenges and approach in driving SRE transformation for a global organization
  • Experience of working with and buildout out transformational SRE teams, aligned to products and features for enterprise scale application development
  • Experience on driving enterprise grade programs in one or more areas like platform performance, availability , toil reduction, automation etc.
  • Strong engineering background - 10+ Years experience as Full Stack development, Java/J2EE and related technologies (Spring, Spring Boot, React JS, API development, Integrations)
  • 4 + years of experience in Observability area/cloud computing solutions/SRE tools and solutions
  • Experienced and well versed in Agile and CI CD tools and practices, Good exposure to tools like JIRA, Jenkins, CI CD Integration – Jenkins, Github, Artifactory, Sonar etc
  • Knowledge of APIs, including deep understanding of REST, SOAP, HTTP etc.
  • Strong experience in Enterprise level evangelization of SRE process and roll out's – including Observability, golden signals, Chaos Engineering, Resiliency, availability related Business KPI's
  • Thorough understanding of NFR (Non Functional
