We are looking for an experienced and proven technical leader to oversee execution of cloud transformations, data center migrations and application retirements for our new EAS Application Factory. __This leader will oversee a team of technical leaders in a fast-paced, distributed environment, partnering with application, infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure the successful delivery of this application transformation program. His/her work will directly modernize our application footprint and will enable scalable new ways of delivering RTX applications with the highest level of excellence. This application and organizational transformation is core to unlocking the value of the merger.

As the Application Factory Delivery Leader you and your team will be responsible for delivering on the agreed-to dispositions of the applications running through the factory process.__ Central to this delivery is the implementation of a repeatable process that helps enable core RTX application requirements, including the implementation of standard RTX authentication, containerization, cloud services, monitoring and support.__ Direct and ongoing partnership with the Application Factory Enablement Leader and Application Factory Excellence Leader is core to defining the factory process and crucial to ensure continuous improvement.

Beyond heavy internal collaboration with parallel factory and functional service teams, building strong connectivity with the RTX infrastructure and cybersecurity teams is mission critical to ensure application technical needs are available and operating as intended.__ Simultaneously onboarding and overseeing our AMS partner is core as that partner will directly help RTX through this application transformation at scale.

Roles of this level of change leadership are few and far between.__ The Application Factory Delivery Leader will fundamentally change how a 400+ employee organization works, transforming our application delivery for years to come, while directly driving a large part of our $34M application synergy goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of application transformations, migrations and retirements for applications to be processed through the EAS Application Factory
  • Define the EAS Application Factory process, collaborating with Application Factory leaders to create and operationalize this key organizational process
  • Pioneer new application development and delivery models, core to EAS transformation. Provide critical knowledge around contemporary application needs to Infrastructure and Cybersecurity, ensuring a clear understanding of pre-requisites
  • Onboard the AMS partner___s application rationalization resourcing, balancing internal employee talent deployment and improvement with the realities of our contemporary skill profile. Establish clear technical roles & responsibilities
  • Transform application development landscape for EAS, partnering with AMS partner development team for the delivery elements of the modernization of RTX applications.__ Lead teams that oversee and manage AMS partner delivery teams in rewriting applications in cloud-native, contemporary ways
  • Manage the development of application transformations, building alignment with application owners on continued parallel development as needed
  • Determine key handoffs and interactions with EAS Enterprise Architecture on core architecture decisions
  • Drive data migration and archiving steps prior to factory exit
  • Oversee and provide critical support for newly migrated applications for transfer to operational state with application owners
  • Partner with EAS testing and experience teams to build excellence into new standups
  • Advance EAS priorities and provide leadership around development areas that support the entire EAS organization
  • Coach and mentor leaders within the team to ensure technical success, working through challenges and requisite cross-organizational facilitation
  • Contribute to building a culture of collaboration, accountability and respect within the enterprise applications team and community at RTX
  • Lead technical and development resources to deliver on one of the most impactful application programs in the history of hUTC & hRTN, defining the RTX application transformation

Education: __

Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.
