Raytheon Intelligence & Space seeks an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to provide top-quality products for the nation___s defense, in a cooperative and collaborative work environment.

The qualified candidate will provide mechanical engineering support for the Advanced Concepts & Technology (ACT) Hardware Engineering Directorate where the primary focus will be the design of electro-mechanical/electro-optical systems. They will be responsible for new product designs as well as improvements to existing products. The candidate will utilize their mechanical engineering expertise during design, development, and integration to create solutions that meet product requirements and incorporate extensive design principles. The candidate will provide guidance on mechanical issues to the project team, working closely with systems, electrical, optical, and mechanical analysis engineers to provide a complete system solution to the customer. In addition, it will be expected for the candidate to mentor junior engineers in the course of their work.

Required Skills:
___Eight (8) years of professional experience in mechanical design and/or production support
___Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
___Proficient written and verbal communication skills
___Experience generating engineering designs and drawings
-Experience in development of optical and opto-mechanical systems
___The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required as only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance


Desired Skills:
___Experience in the design and integration of mechanical products and assemblies
___Electro-mechanical/electro-optical design experience
___Expertise in the use of 3D CAD Solid Modeling Tools, Creo Parametric preferred
___Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
___Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills; good mentoring skills

Required Education:
___Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree with 8 years of related work experience
